As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in their campus and community. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them by hosting and participating in a number of different events.
Some of our major events are our annual Semi Formal & Formal, Ultraviolet Smoke Out, Walk to End Alzheimer's, Greek Night Live, Unstoppable Stars, ΣΚ Ultraviolet Nights, Paws on the Patio, Spread the Love with Sigma Kappa, Greekapalooza, Pancakes and Pajamas, and more. We look forward to all these major events throughout each semester!
Our biggest philanthropy event in the fall is the Walk to End Alzheimer's on a Saturday. Our chapter gets to help run the Walk along with the Alzheimer's Association.
Sigma Kappa's Ultraviolet Smoke Out is one of our favorite annual events. The catered event is a fun time with a corn hole tournament, volleyball, Kan Jam, Spikeball, raffles, live music and fun times with friends. All proceeds go toward the Sigma Kappa Foundation and the fight to End Alzheimer's.
For Sigma Kappa's Unstoppable Stars! we present a pageant on campus to give children with special needs a chance to shine in a positive light. Each participant will show their favorite outfit whether it be pajamas, a sports outfit or a favorite dress then, a talent such as singing, dancing, telling a joke, or showing a magic trick and finally, formal dress where they dress up in Sunday's best. Proceeds donated to ConnectAbility and Sigma Kappa philanthropies.
Greek Night Live is a Saturday Night Live themed event that is intended to be fun and lighthearted in the weeks leading up to finals. Each organization is invited to enter a team to recreate their favorite SNL sketch!
